Last night a shadow
came knocking on my door
and offered me an eternal deal
For the price of my soul
she said she would protect me
from all the things I hated to feel

It seemed almost impossible to refuse
when fear was the only thing
that had me completely defuse
Of course I'd need a safety buffer
to shield me from
all my inner blues and bruise?

But then a shining light came on
and gently asked
"What if you already safe in every way?"
For that moment it was as if...
I am perfect in all sense
as if...
It's all part of Heaven's plans
And somehow it made perfect sense

Last night a dreamlover
came climbing into my window
and proposed a lifetime of love
For the price of my heart
he said he would give me
all that I wanted from above

It seemed almost too good to reject
when lack of love was the only thing
that kept me feeling like a defect
Of course I'd need someone to provide
an eternal supply of love
for me to save and collect?

But then a shining light came on
and gently asked
"What if Love is already within you?"
For that heartbeat it as was if...
I have the Love I had been seeking
as if...
It's all part of my making
And somehow I began waking

Again the shining light came on
and gently suggested
"What if you can be all you ever wanted to be?
With the pricelessness of saying 'Yes'
You would be the Light you seek
You would be the Love you seek
with every single As If's becoming As Is's?"

Yes, and somehow that became my Truth
